It's that time of year that I remember why I love living in Iowa, and especially my little town. The leaves are every shade of red, yellow, orange, gold. When the sun sets it looks like they are all on fire. If you go to the lake and look at the edges where the trees line the bluffs it is breathtaking. I've never been to New England so I don't know what the deal is there, but I have lived in Iowa long enough to know that you have to look long and hard to find anything more pretty.
When we lived in Colorado everyone said "Oh you have to go see the Aspens...they are so pretty this year....be sure to go up into the mountains....the Aspens are wonderful!" I thought, gosh they must be something wonderful. Uhm, yeah....if you like yellow leaves. And pine trees. And more yellow leaves. Boring. Of course, this small town girl was spoiled with her wide variety of colors year around (ok except in the winter time, then it's brown, grey, and white) and yellow leaves just weren't cutting it for me. :-)
So yeah, we've been back exactly 4 years now and the only regret I have is that I had to leave behind so many good friends.
Love to you all! I miss you bunches!

Welcome to my corner of the Universe
This is really just a personal journal of things in my life. I don't update often, just when I need to vent or do some therapeutic journaling. I'm glad you stopped by. If you feel like leaving some encouragement, please do so...we all need a kind word every now and again! Have a blessed day!
About Me
- iowegian
- I'm a 45 year old mother of 4 biological children and currently 2 other little ones who are living with us temporarily. I've been in love with the same man since 1981 and appreciate him more and more the longer we are together. I delayed going to college until I was in my 40's, a decision I don't regret as it has been a wonderful experience for me. I have learned so much and having several years of life experience has given me great perspective.
